RE: AS400 not IPL'ing properly

The M in the display as well as the screen you are seeing shows you are
IPLing in Manual mode.  You need to set your IPL for normal mode.  Front
panels differ and I've not used a 270 before, so you will have to refer
to your documentation to see how to change the mode.

I have inherited a 9406-270 with a PC console that does not come up to
the sign on screen after an IPL. After an IPL it shows a screen with
some options - install operating system, ipl, etc. 
The system led displays 01 BM V=F. 
How can I get it to IPL like a normal machine, coming up with a sign on
