Hello everyone,

Occasionally I am running into the following situation:

On System A - There is a physical file with a File level identifier
1030120085854
On System B - The same physical file has a File level identifier
1030128174521

My intent is to make the File level identifier the same on both systems.

I have a report that verifies the File level identifier of all files
(among many other things ... )
on both systems and it is a great tool to verify object discrepancies

The File on Systems A and B are completely identical.
Same Record format length,
Same record format name,
Same Record Format Level ID,
Same Number and Order of fields,
Same field names,
same field data types,
every field is the same size and type,
same number of decimal positions for very numeric filed .. etc,

It is my understanding that the File level identifier
is a thirteen numeric filed that identifies the Object (*file) TimeStamp
creation.

In this example
1030120085854 = Year 2003, Month 01, Day 20, Time 08:58:54

If I use the Save/Restore Options that will resolve the problem.

However my question is .. Is there another way ?
Does anybody know of an MI program ? API ? SST/DST Service Tool ?

Thanks for your answers and advice.
