I think that right now, if you _have_ a job in IT, you are lucky.  Period.

You guys can argue all you want about the merits of the iSeries vs the rest
of the world, but in reality it's just a lot of hot air.  Ask the over
500,000 programmers that got laid off last year if they care what platform
that they are working on...They just want to work.

AND, I'm spending my spare time learning web design, XML, Java, VB6, and
.NET stuff so that I _will_ have the skills to carry me into the future.

Even though my first love is the iSeries...
