Jerry,

I'm currently working on something you might be interested in. It is a VB
program to upload Excel spreadsheets to the AS400. Because it is a stand
alone program you don't need to start Excel first or export the spreadsheet
into a CSV file. The program prompts for the spreadsheet name and location,
and the AS/400 target file, opens the spreadsheet, creates the AS/400 file
and sends the spreadsheet information to the AS/400 file.

It is currently very crude and some work as it is still a work in progress.
If you have anyone familiar with VB they could adapt it for your needs.

Rick

Any ideas as to an unattended canned approach to an Excel to AS400 file
transfer?

I'm thinking that you have extract the data from Excel in a common
denominator file format like comma delimited. Is there a tool for this? I
don't want the operator to have to load Excel and do it themselves.

Beyond that I know they can use ETU, strpco, strpcpcmd, or runrmtcmd to do
the file transfer.

This has to be no operator intervention required.

Jerry
