The following worked - need to specify the NetServer share name after the
system name (or IP address)

   STRPCCMD PCCMD('\\192.168.1.3\root\home\vern\data1.txt')

started up TextPad on my PC. root is the share name for '\'

Cool

I have a VB file download program residing on the IFS that I want to be
able
to call from within a CL (or RPG?) program. I have been trying to use
iSeries Access PC Organizer but unless I have a mapped drive to the file
location I have not been able to get the organizer to find the program.

Searching through the Information Center has not been fruitful yet either.
Has anyone had any experience with this kind of thing before? If so would
you please share how this could be done?

TIA
