Netsoft's router, per se, does not use FDF and PDF filetypes.

However, applications that rely on Netsoft's router might use those types.
(The PDF issue is a surprise to me; I've not seen that particular issue...
and it's also news to me that Adobe Acrobat Reader uses .FDF files in any
way.)  But still, in answer to your question, if there is some sort of
conflict with those types, then the "wrong" application will start.... and
if that application requires NSROUTER, then that will be started as well.

Please don't search the registry to muck about with those settings.  You'll
find them on every folder window on your system... select Tools / Folder
options / Filetypes.
