Connect the 4224 before you power it on.
Shouldn't be any need for the IPL part.

        Subject: RE: 4224-101 Config.

                 I replaced the 5224 , with a 4224 printer (IBM)
Providing the system is set to auto-config, is it ok to
delete the device description of the 5224, and power on and connect
                 the 4224, and IPL?
Auto config should pick up this new device.
Haven't had to do this in quite awhile.
Thanks
