| overall, yes. Many of IBM's "solutions" include a Windoze
| component.

Ah.

Doesn't surprise me. I guess on the theory that if it don't work well, it
will require A LOT consulting work, and that's somehow a good thing... (Not
kidding, btw.) Don't buy that one, m'self, but some do..

Because the outstanding contract work is out there just WAITING to be turned
into revenues. The quicker the solution, the faster open contracts are
turned into shareholder's equity, and the faster MORE contracts would come
in too, imo.....

Anyhoo, that could be part of the politics involved. Also, I believe the
iSeries Division would still LIKE to get Windows running native on the
400... Might not work well, if TOO many clients go Linux. (Don't know how
many would, or what TOO many is, either.)

Plus, I believe there's still a contingent up in Rochester that doesn't want
the ENTIRE computing industry to get only 2 choices.. Windows or *Nix...
(Sure, on the desktop, that's pretty much it and Mac/nix. But if Linux
takes the desktop, We may all be greppin our way through archaic *nix
commands on the Server, because there might not BE any alternatives.)
