I looked at Windows - didn't see an API for this, but, then, it's been
awhile. I could see using ODBC or OLE-DB. There're also remote command
functions in Client Access that are usable in VB or VC++ or Delphi.

The Windows doc on rexec says that the remote host needs a .rhosts file in
the home directory of the requesting user - then they are authenticated
without password. I don't think the 400 does this.

Cheers

I've run into this, too. In Unix, I think there is
a .rexec file somewhere that can have the password. Not
in Windows, that I know of.

A different way might be to use ftp in batch on the PC -

ftp -s:filename host

filename can have the user ID and password, as well as a

quote site rcmd cl_command_string

Well, that's what I suggested to them in the first place, and they said
they're going to use rexec via Windows API. I assume that's how they're
able to enter a password.
