Evan,

I think that you have the right programs, but reversed.  The daemon
(LPD) will sit on the target machine waiting for requests.  The
requester (LPR) will issue the request from another machine.  I would
imagine that the SNDTCPSPLF initiates the requester, which would then
terminate upon completion.

So starting the LPD daemon on the target machine may be the ticket.
Something like 'STRTCPSVR *LPD'.
