The + sign indicates the presence of group jobs, try F14.

As for ending a job, I assume you did an ENDJOB *CNTRLD, and then an ENDJOB
*IMMED on it, no? If the *IMMED doesn't work you can try ENDJOBABN (End Job
Abnormal) HOWEVER that results in the next IPL (when ever that may be) being
an abnormal IPL, so use with caution.

I'd try and "trick" the job into ending first. You say the job is set to
*WRAP the joblog. Try changing it to *NOWRAP, let it fill the joblog and
then it should end on it's own. Or try deleting a program that it's calling
so it crashes. Or lock a record it needs so it hangs up on a lock wait.

If there are group jobs you should end them too, but the endjob *immed
should have worked to bring everything down.

PS. PWRDWNSYS *IMMED should also do the trick! And as a last resort there's
always that cable between the iSeries and the UPS (and I don't mean the
communication cable!) <G>

Subject: How do I end a job that is ending?

Hi All,
We have a job on our system that has a status of END. It is an interactive
job that got disconnected when a dial in line dropped. This job has been
running on the box since Sunday evening and just keeps chewing up CPU. Right
now WRKACTJOB shows about 40%. We have been trying to end it but to no
avail. Fortunately the joblog was set to wrap so it isn't filling up the
disk with joblogs.

Also does anyone know what the + means next to the job in WRACTJOB?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

TIA
Ron
