If you use C/C++, you can set a pointer to the start of a user space, then
use whatever library functions there are for searching a block of memory.
Something similar can be done in ILE RPG, I believe - declare a pointer
variable, base something else on it, set it to start of user space, test,
increment pointer. Have to deal with boundary crossover, I suppose.

There's got to be some RPG stuff around for doing this - Jon Paris, are you
there?

Hi All,

I'm looking for a way to scan usrspcs for occurrences of field names. Here
is the situatuion, we sue Sequel and they start their objects as user
spaces. When we change files. Mostly if we delete or change the atribute
of a field I need to know what reports use them. I would like to make this
a batch process and not have to scan spool files.

TIA
Ron
