1-> If you mean what format is the file ending up as... it is a .TXT file.
Otherwise, I'm not sure what you mean by "format".
2-> Ditto #1. Do you mean ASCII vrs ANSI format? Either way gives same
results.
3-> Yes, it has always done this (I just checked some other files I download
in the same fashion). I'm sure this behavior has always been there, it's
just that the people I have SENT these downloaded files to in the past have
never had a problem with that "extra" record marker at the end. A vendor I
am now working with doesn't like it. (I'm about to tell him he has to like
it...)
4-> I had not applied any services packs (I'm on Express V4R5M0) so I was a
little behind and just downloaded and applied it. Still get same results
after download...
5-> (see 4)

1) What format are you using when you transfer the data to the PC?
2) Have you tried different download formats to see if the problem is
specific to a particular file format?
3) Have you experienced this behavior before?
4) Have you applied any service packs to your CAE or PTF's to the AS/400
that could have affected file transfer?
5) If the answer to 4 is NO, are you on the latest service pack for your CAE
release?

Here's the link for IBM's web site for CAE service packs:
