   The LINESPEED and DUPLEX parms are the ones you want. The Link speed is
used only for Performance tools and routing determination.

   you want LINESPEED of 100M and DUPLEX of *FULL as you indicated.

   In the Cisco switch you want: (xx= the port number for your AS/400)

interface FastEthernet0/xx
  speed 100
  duplex full

   With this combinatino we have gotten the line to come up 100M full duplex
every time.
