Thanks for your reply, Henrik, but I am already using these values.  It was
my guess that it may be a permissions issue and a misleading escape/diag
message, or perhaps 'table entries' for distributions that have already been
deleted ... ???  Whatever the cause, there are only four DSTs and if the
number doesn't grow too large I can live with it.

The QRYDST gives you the DSTID needed for DLTDST. It also gives you an
DSTIDEXN, that normally is *not* needed, but sometimes it is. Are you using
this? (Correcting the CLP would be OK, You can use it even when you do not
need it)
