"The Economic Value of Rapid Response Time" GE20-0752-00
Goes into detail on how bad response time can increase errors and really
destroy a users train of thought, which in turn causes more delays.
Had to really dig into a drawer of ancient stuff to find this manual. Did
a google search on that document number and found it quoted in:
http://www.ir.bbn.com/~krash/unpubs/TR8340.pdf

And if you do a google search, advanced search, and fill out The Economic
Value of Rapid Response Time in the field 'exact phrase', you'll see this
little booklet quoted all over.

Actually if you change the search from GE20-0752-00 to just GE20-0752
you'll get a few hits. Haven't found the exact manual yet...

Judging by the pictures of the two authors from IBM I'd have to say it's
quite old.

Hi guys,

Is there an acceptable industry wide "Maximum Interractive Response Time".
Out here we are touting a 4sec as the maximum.

Thanks,

Dare
