We are trying out the Communigate Pro from Stalker Software.
(www.stalker.com). So far it has met all expectations. I am very impressed
with it.

It includes the usuall SMTP, POP and IMAP, a number of other protocols and
also Web Access. It is quite lightweight, and does not use a lot of CPU
resources. I have client that uses Communigate on his production box (P05
270) and has not noticed any degradation in performance since it was
installed.

The software is free to try and can be downloaded from Stalker's web site.

We will be purchasing this software soon.

Subject: Email packages

*This message was transferred with a trial version of CommuniGate(tm) Pro*
I have been asked by my CTO to throw this message out here and see what type
of feedback I get.

We are using GroupWise as our email software. Overall we are pretty
satisfied with it, but some are pushing for a switch. To what is the
question. Lotus Notes is one option. Doesn't this run on the AS400? Can I
get some feedback from those who use it there and especially from those who
made a switch from GroupWise or Outlook (the other option)? What about
performance or dasd space considerations? What about remote access like via
the web? I know nothing about Lotus Notes so go easy on me.
If anyone is using other packages and want to give their opinions I would
appreciate those as well.

Thanks,
Dave
