Hi Jim

Like Eugene I did this a long time ago too so my memory is pretty hazy also
- it must be 15 years since I fooled with his stuff.

What are the devices configured as ? You should be able to get all the
parameters you need from the device descriptions (port, speed, dev type,
parity, stop bits etc) so check the device descriptions to see how the
devices have been configured and whether this is your problem. I gues you
could configure a new one if it helps.

I too remember busting my a** trying to get this working until IBM told me
that the cable from the modem to the controller was rather specific and
that it wouldn't work without the right (IBM supplied) cable. Since the
ones you had were previously attached and presumably in use this should be
OK in your case.

I do remember having to do something with the keys - maybe to hit escape
twice ?

The key sequence ESC-Ctl-R (I think to redraw the screen) has also stayed
with me for some reason....

There is an ASCII workstation controller manual which has some useful stuff
in it, especially the keyboard mappings but I don't have a copy of it and a
quick search of the web didn't turn up anything.

Regards
Evan Harris
