We have three physically LPARed platforms, and two of them are UNI's. If
anything, the UNI's are MORE stable than two-way 820!

We get errors on the 820 that we cannot reproduce on the 820 and 270, both
of which are fractional UNI's.

I've searched the archives and read everything posted here in the last
two years regarding LPAR. What I haven't seen is a testimonial from
someone running fractional LPAR on a uni-processor. Someone asked
about it and received some replies on how to do it, but I'd like to
hear from someone who is running this type of configuration now, how
they like it, have they run into any issues, etc. We have an 820
running V5R1 that is capable of fractional LPAR and we're considering
carving out a portion of the processor and memory for a test system.
We would be adding DASD and all the cards necessary for the new
partition. Before we do it I'd like to hear from someone who has been
there and done that.
