Jim -

It's been quite a while since I worked with a PC console, but there is a
setting in DST that differentiates between a dumb terminal and the PC(Ops)
Console. I remember that the PC Console would work perfectly until I tried
to IPL normally and then would act exactly as you describe. Try IPLing to
DST and looking for a Console mode setting under Environment.

I try to get the console up, the control panel comes up, I log into the SST
account successfully, then a get a blank 5250 session. Cursor is in the
top/left hand corner, says it's connected.

What do I need to look for to fix this? It was working before, but not now.
Have IPLed the AS/400 and rebooted the PC with no success.

Man, I sure miss the old Green Screen dumb tubes for consoles that used to
work with no problem, if it didn't work, you got another dumb tube and it
was up. But now, the SST account is disabled, can't get to console to
change it unless you can boot your system, which is usually why you need to
get to the console in the first place... Or a blank screen with absolutely
no idea what's wrong.

I would like to suggest that IBM FIX THIS!!! It is a pain in the ... neck
to have to jump through hoops over 2 story buildings just to get to the
console.

Jim Langston
