This can be related to the spooled file containing characters that are
unable to be displayed to the terminal/emulator but can be printed.
Sometimes if you have weird hex character combinations in the spooled file,
it can cause the display of that spooled file to dump. This is similar to
the occasional dump when you are running DFU over some data record that has
packed data that cannot be displayed on the screen.

Just another place to look!
