for a java. If it's a batch process, it might work.

Sorry, misunderstood your question.

You can run a command on the AS/400 from an FTP session using QUOTE RCMD
AS400CommandString.

If your AS/400 paths are correctly set up you should be able to use:

quote rcmd java javaProgramName anyOtherParametersRequired
