What kind of an argument is that?  QWERTY beat Dvorak, therefore nobody
should ever try to compete against a popular solution?

If that's the case...   NT is vastly more popular than OS/400, let's
abandon it now!

It wouldn't stop BSD or Linux.  There's nothing to buy-out.  Why do you
think that Microsoft hates open source software so much?

Linux already has taken off.  It has more users than OS/2 did by orders of
magnitude.  However, competing with Windows is a much more difficult
thing.

Microsoft is a monopoly.  This discussion, and it's arguments have made
that abundantly clear!   Monopolies are broken up for a reason!  The
damage that MS is doing to the computer industry, by making it so
difficult to compete, needs to be stopped!
