Hey

Some good insight to what the leader of the Senior VP thinks. He talks
about Eclipse, C# Java, J2EE, and EVEN SOM remember that?
He'll mention why they dropped it. Talks about MS's trouble with VB
and C++ and the why of .NET
which he says
"So they've created this language-neutral layer, which is a pretty
complicated piece of computer science."

AS THE OVERSEER of IBM's $12 billion software business, a business that
spans every major software market from mainframes to PCs, Senior Vice
President and Group Executive Steve Mills .......

As an example.

InfoWorld: Does IBM have any plans to support C#?

Mills: I do not have any plans at the present time to support C#, for the
simple reason that I don't need one more programming language if I can help
it. I mean we're collectors of programming languages here, and so one more
programming language just makes my head hurt.
