I would advise sending ALL email'd reports using PDF.  I've tried to work
with .txt files, but you basically have no control over the format when the
user opens it in notepad.

There are lots of utilities, some free, which will convert to pdf format and
email as an attachment.  I'm using Gumbo's Spoolmail. (actually, my client
is)  I'd check this one and look at Brad Stones shareware (spooltool, I
think) utilities.  There are lots of others.  You'll spend WAY more time
re-inventing the wheel.  Not as much fun, but more cost-effective.

Anyway, I have not been satisfied with .txt format for report attachments,
and believe me, I've tried all I know to try.  PDF does a really good job at
presentation.
