Dear Mike,

I'm assuming your friend wants to send IPDS data directly to the 45xx IBM
printer and is not having trouble with the OS/400 host print transform
function. If this is a correct assumption, the following information might
be useful.

IPDS functionality in these printers is provided by a small board that is
installed inside the printer that adds the IPDS emulation to the printer's
basic HP PCL/PostScript language support. The add-in board has its own IBM
part number and has to be specified as part of the sales ordering process
for it to be included when the printer is shipped.

HTH

Best Regards,

/Paul
