I'm not sure that I follow you.   The terminal type is needed in order to
have the ABILITY to switch to 132 col mode.   But, once it's switched, how
READABLE it is would be because of the font.

Mr. Bale's post referred to "27x132 mode is very readable".

Or is there some other factor relating to the terminal type that I'm not
aware of?
