You can square the field on which you want to sort in Query/400.
The square will be a positive number & the resulting sequence will be that
of absolute value of the field you squared.

You have to select the squared field to sort on it.
You do not need to print the squared value.
You can print the original field (with or without the sign).

You can select fields to do things with them other than printing.
In the column descriptions set the spacing and field length to zero and the
header to *NONE.
