Updates the data in the Excel chart and not the 400, right?  I am looking
to get it to update the data on the 400.

Ahhhh, create a file with a MSquery enbedded in it, you could even create a
"Pivot Table" report. Then save the file as a "save as" -> "template".
Thereafter when the template is opened it will update the data.

What I am trying to do is the following.

1)  Current system.  They have an excel spreadsheet stored under QDLS.
Many people get into it.  Routinely the file gets deleted and all that is
left in this directory is several numeric file names with no extensions.
Sort of like temp files.  I think they are shoehorning excel into a
multiuser system.

2)  First baby step.  Create a database on the 400.  Journal it.  All
maintenance and display will be done with Excel.  Concerned that MSQuery
will only show and not do the updating.
