IBM has a recent history of only letting you skip one release.  This would
suggest that an upgrade from V4R4 to V5R2 (IBM has announced in print that
this will be the next release number), would not be allowed.

Putting aside that many are suggesting to wait for V5R2...

I have a client that is being told by another BP that they don't recommend
going from V4R4 directly to V5R1, "there are issues" and they are
suggesting upgrade to v4r5 then to v5r1.
