I agree Dare, but the other solutions rely on either the message queue to
be in break mode, or access to user tools. Being able to read data from a
user space is a very useful exercise, as there are numerous applications
for such methods. But I agree, simple is best....if it works!

Mike, I think that will take some programming and I think the original
author is looking for a command that already exist.
