This is going to those of you on midrange-L and the interlug discussion
forums....   feel free to forward to others who may have had similar
problems.

First of all, thank you for helping to point out the problems we had/have
with the newly launched Nation's web site.  While painful to read all of
them, I truly appreciate your telling me about them.... and I know,
without
a doubt, that you will continue....     :}     The message I conveyed to
the web team is that this community is used to ~99.9999%  reliability and
quality ....  we missed that mark!!  and for that I sincerely apologize!

As of noon Central today there is no log-in required for anyone to get to
the Nation's web site.   This will change once the "glitches" are worked
out.   There are and will be other sections which will not require a log
in.   We will have sections we believe should be for Citizens only.

Second, having you update registration information helps us as we focus
content for emails and the web site..... this is a sincere attempt to meet
your needs.   I realize some don't like it .... and I'd love to talk to
more of you about the why we believe this is important for both of us and
why you don't like it ....  just call or email me.

Third,  the "Buy Now" nav bar no longer points to that "other" non-iSeries
site  (ouch!!).   It will be changed to send you to iSeries ibm.com  ....
actually a pretty cool operation, by the way!  I visit the Atlanta call
center yesterday.... most impressive.   Call them, check it out and tell
them iSeries Nation sent you.

Next, I am told that once you have registered you never have to log in
again.... that message is not clear on the web site.... but it will be.
You should see a "Welcome, ___your name___"    right under the Nation
colored graphic.....    This may/may not be happening now.   This problem
is still outstanding .... don't feel left out, it doesn't recognize me
either!!    (sorry ... just trying to find a bit of humor in all this!)

As to content ... I had several notes about the lack of value on the
site...  I definitely want to talk with you about significantly increasing
the value of the content.... as several of you said so well:  This is your
site....   so .... without totally flooding my email box.... be specific
about what you want to see on the site.  I don't think I've received one
suggestion from ya'll  that has not been implemented or in plan .... in
fact the survival kit for new customers is ready to go live.  100% of the
content came from you!!

I'm sure I've forgotten something, but these are the key problems I heard
about over & over & over....... and rightly so!!
