Yes, this is doable on V3R2 (I used to do it quite frequently).  In fact,
I had a "read line" subprocedure in a service program that would read
the line in either UNIX or DOS.  (It simply discarded CR's)

In fact, I started (but never finished) writing a tutorial on doing this
sort of thing.   Sadly, it still needs a lot of work, and I don't have the
time to finish it.   But, it is V3R2-compatible, and it may help you to

Maybe.  Also, FTP automatically fixes these things for you if you use
ASCII mode.  If you want it in a database (since you're looking at
CPYFRMSTMF) FTP could also put it into the database for you.

Of course, SMB ("NetServer") or NFS won't do those translations, so you
may still need to look at CPYFRMSTMF.
