I've used that technique in the past to determine the IP address of a
workstation.  Won't do dink about retrieving the ip address of the 400
though.

Funny you should ask this today, of all days.  We have a new newsletter,
Midrange Programmer - OS/400 Edition, that just came out last night.  And
there is an article in this issue about retrieving a PC's IP address.  This
one does it with RPGIV, but you can easily modify this to work in a CL
program. Or if you want, I can send you a CL program that does it too.
