How to use the archives to find the first post in a thread.

I went to the archive http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/index.htm
and did a browser search for the subject line "Pulling spool files off
AS/400 - VB?" and found the following page:
http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/200201/msg00660.html

Before I get the "who cares?" posts, let me explain that I'm trying to
demonstrate how useful the archives are in a real-life situation, and how I
went about using them.  No, the archives don't show a person's email
address, but one can search the "deleted" mail folder to find it once one
has the person's name.
