Try "where your_field is null " or "where substr(Your_field, 1, 1) = ' ' "

Oggetto: Null or Blank

Hello all,

I have a database file that is populated from the results of an List API. I
am having trouble doing an SQL over a field when it is blank. If I look at
it with DSPPFM, it shows Hex '40'. However when I look at it using DBU, it
shows hex '00'. I've tried both from VB and STRSQL to issue SQL commands
over this file. I've tried field = ' ' and field is null. None of
what I tried will retrieve any records. Any insight would be appreciated.
The field in question is defined with DDS as10 Alpha

Thanks,

Mark
