Well if you are monitoring your QSYSOPR messages as we are, you do have that
capability.  We use ICOM and have it call a program passing the job info.
We log the error and allow so many increments per job.  System level would
take away from third party utilities.

Fair enough, however if you have a runaway will you have enough time to see
the messages, analyze the problem and take corrective action? That depends
on the level of operations in your organization. IMHO, a great OS adjustment
would be "Max Increments in day." So we could allow some growth, but with a
governor.
