Sometimes if I disconnect the VPN connection, then everything stops working.

  Actually, if I connect first to the local system, the connection remains
up.  But if I forgot, then I must disconnect from the VPN, connect to my
local /400 and then reconnect.  Big pain.  I'm also running W2K Pro.  are
