Rob, how would you do a JOIN across systems?  I can't figure that out
although I haven't spent a tonne of time on it.  I can
connect to sysa
select * from filea
connect to sysb
select * from fileb

...but I can't see how to tell SQL that I want to join the results together.
This sounds like a job for distributed database.
