It just seems to be too often that "the IFS" is written about as if it's 
unrelated to QSYS or QDLS or whatever. By definition from the IFS Introduction 
manual: "The integrated file system is a part of OS/400 that supports stream 
input/output and storage management similar to personal computer and UNIX 
operating systems, while providing an integrating structure over all 
information stored in the AS/400."

"...all information..."

When talking about the IFS, it must be remembered that it covers multiple file 
systems and each one can have different characteristics.

Sorry. I just get nervous when I see this over and over.
