float ?

I need to able to transfer data that is a float field from the PC to the
400.

What i've done is through another application downloaded data from the
400(that has the float field)  This application does not give me the ability
to transfer the data back to the 400.
It actually forces me to put the data into a DBASE file.  I've found the
utility CONVERT from Mr. Guthrie to convert the DBASE file to ASCII.
CA transfer will not let me upload the float value.  cpytopcd works-sorta-
it uploads, but data is not correct.

Anyone have any ideas, how to get the data from DBASE back to my file on the
400 updating the float fields.
