Ugh.  Now that I think about it, I probably had to add some GROUP BY clauses
in order to get the SUM() to work.  Argh.  Anyway, I hope this illustrates
the issue.  While you certainly can do powerful things with SQL, I don't
think it's any easier than traditional record-level techniques.
