with all due respect, I see this comment made entirely too often. On a
system of more than 15 GB, I have never seen the removal of properly
licensed software to be of any real value. It only causes grief later when
software updates are applied, or IBM "forgets" to ship you software for an
upgrade because it wasn't listed on DSPSFWRSC.

Concentrate on the data and data storage mechanisms. Licensed programs will
not get you anything worthwhile.

Again, on a system of more than 15 GB, unless you have someone downloading
every available PTF, this will not get you much and applying PTF's *PERM can
switch your IPL to A, making the PTF install process more difficult, not
easier.
