How can I monitor for no spool file in a CL?

In this program, a huge batch file is run. Some of the programs have a
report come out, others don't. This is not a custom program, but from a
purchased product, so it is not easy to tell if a report gets printed
without heavy modifications (which we don't like to do).

Is it possible to do a quick check to see if the spool file exists?

Thanks for any help

Mike
