This might've been answered, but it's not quite true that "?20? is parameter 
20". I think it's more accurate to say "?20? means to substitute the value from 
parameter 20 here". And where you see the doubled question marks, it simply 
means that substitution is done twice -- nested substitution.

We used this back in S/34 OCL to code an 'addition' procedure once because S/34 
OCL didn't have anything like "?20? + 3". Stupid, of course, because it was 
much faster just to call an RPG pgm to do the addition; but what the heck... it 
made a fascinating piece of totally undecipherable code.
