I caught the ":-)", but this is sometimes given ***seriously*** as an
advantage to some particular methodology.. for example Java.  I've never
managed to see this as much of an advantage.  The reason I work on iSeries
is that I'd rather not compromise quality, and seek the
least-common-denominator type of solutions that are readily available on
other platforms.

JMHO.  I recognize there are other pros and cons, but never understood this
particular advantage to Java and such, over the iSeries.
