IBM maintains an online library and one of the best sources within that
library is the RedBooks.  If you wish to learn about hardware, I would
recommend the three books below.  Start with the pocket handbook, then
the handbook, and use the System Builder for reference.

That's how I would start.  If you just browse through the RedBook site,
you may find other things which interest you.  PDF files can be
downloaded from the URLs below.
