3580-H11 ULTRIUM TAPE DRIVE - LTO
Has anyone heard any issues with this device.
<endsnip>
 We have several customers using this drive on 7xx and 8xx boxes and all
love them, with one small exception.

DO NOT (repeat) DO NOT drop the tape and then put it into the unit. Your
CE will scorn you for life as he replaces the entire drive assembly. It
seams the sprocket and gears decide to mash each other after the tape has
been dropped. I am unaware of a fix. We have had at least two occurrences
of that problem with different customers.

With the new tape interface card, it is also really fast, as much as a 50%
improvement over a 3570 with the older tape attach feature.
