Our former operations manager--now retired--said that back in the days of
steel beer cans (when crushing a beer can was more challenging) he worked
with a guy who liked to show off by slipping the write rings over his
forearm, clenching his fist, and breaking them.  Sounds like a useful vendor
relations trick. <g>
