Tom,

QFPBWPT1 *SVRSTG QFPINT
QVNISYS1 *SVRSTG QNTAP

The NWS in question was called VOLCANO, so there should have been a VOLCANO1
and VOLCANO2 *SVRSTG.

I did get some errors during the RESTORE 21, the most suspicious IMHO was:

CPD8F95

Q
  Message . . . . : Language version 2924 not installed for product
5769WSV.
  Cause . . . . . : Language version (LNGVER parameter) 2924 must be
install
for product 5769WSV in order to use a network server description object
fo
that product. Recovery . . . : Use the Work with Licensed Programs
menu
(GO LICPGM command) to determine the valid installed languages for this

product. Install the necessary language version before using the
network
    server description object. Technical description . . . . . . . . :

Language objects from product 5769WSV are used to create *SVRSTG objects

when a network server description is created. If the language objects
are
not installed, the network server description will still be created but
it
    can not be varied on.

It was as if 5769WSV was not fully restored when it was trying to restore
the NWSD.

After the fact, 5769WSV appears to have restored completely and normally,
but I do not know how to go about manually trying the restore of the SVRSTG
objects. I have my SAVE 21 tape and I could try a RSTOBJ, but I don't know
what file to point it at. In what library would the SVRSTG objects reside?

In case you haven't guessed by now, this is not an important system or IPCS.
At this point it would be far easier to just reinstall NT on the thing. Now
it is more a matter of intellectual curiosity as to how this all really
works and why the backup/restore did not work before.

Thanks,

-Marty

I don't have an IPCS available on a system beyond V4R4 at the moment. If you
don't mind, what does WRKOBJ *ALL/*ALL *SVRSTG show as?
